In January, CAEL and Truist Foundation unveiled the Where It Starts: Build Better Careers Initiative, funded with a $15.7 million grant. This ambitious six-year endeavor, initially focused on Charlotte, Memphis, and Miami, aims to connect over 6,000 adult learners to careers in finance, insurance, and related fields. The project emphasizes industry validation of high-demand occupations, fostering equitable economic mobility for underserved adult workers. CAEL's comprehensive approach involves collaboration with various partners, including education providers and workforce boards, to create accessible career pathways. By targeting specific, region-specific variables, the initiative seeks to empower individuals and build diverse, sustainable talent pipelines in these industries.
