Riipen wins Reimagine Education’s “Nurturing Employability” award for collaboration with the Ontario government
In 2018/2019 Riipen collaborated with the Government of Ontario after receiving funding from the Career Ready Fund. As a result of this funding, Riipen delivered 8,249 student experiences. This project is the winner of the 2019 Reimagine Education Nurturing Employability Award.
Reimagine Education brings together Education Technology companies and educators from top universities to celebrate innovation and push the boundaries of education. Through their global education awards program, top organizations and academics are rewarded for their innovative approaches to enhancing student learning outcomes and employability.
This year, 1507 educational innovators from 39 countries submitted projects to be considered in 16 award categories. The top 15% of submissions were invited to present a pitch to a global audience of 600 fellow educational leaders before the winners were selected.
It is our great pleasure to announce that Riipen has been presented Reimagine Education’s “Nurturing Employability” award. The Nurturing Employability award honours an organization whose project clearly demonstrates a link between the project’s approach and improved employability outcomes. Riipen’s project, “Building Ontario’s Inclusive, Online Work-Integrated Experiential Learning Ecosystem”, enables underserved students to access work-integrated experiential learning (WIEL) regardless of discipline, socioeconomic background, or geography. In 2018/2019 Riipen collaborated with the Government of Ontario to deliver 8,249 online WIEL experiences across 12 Ontario colleges and universities.
