How Flidais leverages FuturePath and student talent to enhance AI-powered job search services.
Flidais, an AI-powered job search service, partnered with Riipen’s FuturePath program to access talented students who helped improve their UX/UI design and accelerate product development. This collaboration enabled Flidais to innovate and grow, while providing students with real-world experience. Learn how FuturePath is helping small businesses like Flidais succeed, and students gain hands-on experience.

Flidais, an AI-powered job search platform, has one clear mission: to help individuals find the perfect job opportunities based on their expertise. Founded by Andrey Maltsev, Flidais aims to support marginalized communities and newcomers in the Canadian tech sector by providing easy access to tailored job matches. However, as a startup, Flidais faced the challenge of improving its product without the resources of a larger company. That’s where Riipen’s FuturePath program came in.
Through FuturePath, Flidais partnered with talented students like Nicholas, who helped optimize the UX/UI design of the platform. The FuturePath program connects employers with skilled students for real, paid projects. "Working with Riipen made a real difference for us," says Andrey Maltsev, Flidais’ founder. "As a non-technical founder, I can’t be great at everything, and having access to talented students filled that gap in a powerful way."
Collaborating with FuturePath students for impactful results.
Through FuturePath, Flidais connected with Nicholas, a student passionate about UX/UI design. Nicholas worked on improving the visual design of Flidais’ platform, streamlining the user experience, and enhancing the app’s functionality. The collaboration helped Flidais make progress faster than it could have on its own. "Nicholas helped us improve our UX/UI, move faster, and implement changes that would have taken much longer on our own," says Andrey.
For Flidais, FuturePath provided access to skilled students without requiring long-term commitments. The project was completed efficiently, and Flidais saved valuable resources while benefiting from fresh perspectives. As Andrey notes, "We saved over $10,000 in labour costs and received a $25,000 IPON grant for the work completed with students."
The power of FuturePath’s work-integrated learning.
FuturePath connects students with real employers to work on genuine business challenges. This collaboration model allowed Flidais to move forward with its product roadmap, testing and validating new ideas with students who were eager to learn and contribute. "Students need practical experience to succeed in the workforce. Educational institutions provide the foundation, but real-world experience accelerates employment opportunities," says Andrey.
The partnership also provided students like Nicholas with the opportunity to apply their classroom learning to real-world projects. For Flidais, this created a mutually beneficial collaboration: the company got the support it needed to enhance its platform, and Nicholas gained valuable work experience that will help him succeed in the job market.
Looking forward: Flidais' mission and continued growth.
Looking ahead, Flidais is focusing on empowering marginalized communities and newcomers to the Canadian tech sector. "We are pivoting to focus on marginalized communities and newcomers," says Andrey. "Riipen will continue to play a key role in helping us achieve our mission and grow sustainably."
