What is expected of an instructor once the students and company have started their projects

Supporting active projects

As the educator supervising the experience, ideally you are able to take a backseat as your students manage communications and manage the projects with employers.

With that said, students will tend to communicate with employers as much as you ask them to. It's the responsibility of the educator to define communication expectations for students and employers up front, and to let your students know what is expected of them.

We encourage using Riipen milestones as automated reminders to students. This also allows Riipen staff to view progress and provide support.

If you see that a student team is not completing their milestones on time, or is not posting updates in the Riipen message thread, we recommend that you send that group a nudge to help ensure they make a good impression on the employer.
