How to prepare employers before your course starts

Once your employers are approved, the next steps are mostly with your students. That said, employers will feel more ready to go and engaged if they have been kept up to date and know exactly what to expect.

  1. Inform them about upcoming key dates. Start date, submission date, and any major events in between (eg. presentations). You can do this through your course page on Riipen, by setting milestone dates.
  2. Update them about any changes. This may seem obvious, but if your start date is pushed back, let the employers know.
  3. Let employers know when they'll hear from students, and how often. How will students reach out? Employers will expect Riipen messaging to be used; if students will communicate through another channel, make sure the employer is aware.

Ultimately, it all comes down to communication and expectations. A short note to employers will go a long way!
